Not A Candy Bar

It's been a couple of years since we have done any baking with rhubarb from our garden, and today my husband decided to cut from our rhubarb plant and make a pie, but he then determined there was only enough rhubarb to make three small ramekins of tiny pies, which is exactly what he did.

Here are two older posts I did showing his rhubarb pie skills.

HERE and HERE

Since we were a bit short on home grown rhubarb today, my husband phoned me while I was away and asked if I would stop at the Food Lion on the way home and get more.
And, so I stopped to pick some up, but I didn't see any in the produce area of the store.... so as I was checking out with a few other purchases the checkout girl asked me,
"Did you find everything you needed today?"

And I responded,
"No, I didn't find any rhubarb.  Do you have rhubarb?"

The girl looked at me.
A quizzical and somewhat dumbfounded look on her face.
And she replied,
"Rhubarb?  Is that a candy bar?"

I returned the dumbfounded look and said,
"No. Rhubarb grows in the garden."

Seriously people??
A candy bar???

  3. Oh my gosh, really? I suppose we grew up with it and maybe she's never had it. Still....it's not as though you live in a big city where people don't grow things in the ground.
