An Arc Of Love

That's four of our grandchildren in today's header photo.
They are a rainbow, an arc of love and acceptance standing next to an ocean, on a shore of this hate filled country that they live in.
The differences between those who live in this country are as deep and as wide as that ocean, and closing the great divide between those who love and those who hate here in the U.S. due to skin color may never come to fruition when you consider that it's been 153 years since Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, and yet those of dark skin are STILL being killed by men who for some reason hate and fear them.

I live in the southern part of the state of Virginia, and I know people who cannot open their mouth to speak about people with dark skin without hatefulness falling from their lips.  Having dark skinned grandchildren that I love, and whose color I do not see until an innocent black man is shot four times within the confines of his car, completely unable to defend himself, and THEN I worry for the future safety of my granddaughter and most especially my grandson.

I'm seeking a peaceful world and have been since the peace and love movement of the 60's.
Some would say... well, good luck with that!
I doubt that total acceptance between the races of this world will happen in my lifetime, but if my grandchildren have any chance in spreading peace and acceptance, then you can bet that they most certainly will since it's been instilled in them from day one on this earth.
The world is getting smaller as the population still continues to grow, so tuck in your elbows and make room for neighbors in a rainbow of colors.
Peace and Love, or at least just be nice!!

Not Your Favorite Holiday??

There are those that for one reason or another think that this day of the year
is too pushy and over-rated about showing others that we love them,
and believe that every day of the year is enough in saying "I Love You" to those around us.
 BUT
for me it's a big deal to have one day out of 365 that is devoted to REALLY saying the words and making it a super big deal.
Okay.... not so much, you say?
There's so much hate in this world and it gets a boat load of time dedicated to it on TV, the internet, radio, newspapers and every kind of media.
I like to push that all away
and out of my world and mind for 24 hours and make it a full day of love.
 And besides....
there's a National Cat Day
a National Pie Day,
National Tortellini Day (how awesome)
and you name it.... there is a special day for it.
So why not a day for Lovers?
A day just for giving someone a card, flowers, or pink iced cupcakes to remind them that they are loved. It might just make a huge difference in their day and turn that frown upside down into a smile.
If nothing else... just give them an EXTRA big hug today and instead of being nonchalant about how you feel about them.... in fact, give them a SUPER big hug, the biggest hug ever!
and tell them out loud... "HEY!  Do you know how much I love you?"
Stop by their house and give them an unexpected hug, a single rose, potted plant,
or a PINK ICED CUPCAKE.
I mean, it may not be YOUR favorite day of the year,
but it might be theirs.
Right?
Show some love.

Peace Love Joy

I have Christmas music on in the house this morning.  In fact, I may just play it non-stop all day today.
Still recommending this CD, and this version is only available at Target.... I purchased mine from their website.
LOVE IT!

I have bad feet that need a lot of support and this boot, sort of a hiking boot from Merrell, serves my feet well.  They are great for my walks with the pups.

I tried on the Merrell walking shoes and even they did not feel as good as the hiking boot.

Rowdy and I are totally recommending them, because now Mom can take him for walks.
They seem to run a bit small so consider going a half size larger than normal.
If you live in my area, they sell them at Gander Mountain.
Here is a cute ditty of a song I came across this morning just for fun!

Even on a sunshine filled day, the temperatures can give you a chill this time of the year, so I love wearing a warm infinity scarf when outdoors.  This one is warm and yet not so bulky like some can be around the neck.
Mine is from The Gap, it is a lightly knitted scarf.
Totally recommending something like this if you live where the cold winter winds blow.
Just search or Google 'knit infinity scarf' and a bazillion choices will pop up.

Sending out warm wishes and love to a family member that is having surgery today and the entire family is pulling for you.
We love our own.
If you are one who prays, please pray for all who are in the hospital.
They need love and support, most especially from their family when they are hurting.

Sending Peace, Love and Joy out into the World today.
