Sunflower Festival

If you have never attended a sunflower festival, I am recommending that you go should you ever have the opportunity.

I love them and the happiness they bring to everyone who steps up to these towering faces of sunshine for an annual photo op.  After watching numerous families have their photos taken in these fields, I am betting that this year many Christmas cards in our area will feature the Beaver Dam Farms 80 acres of sunflowers.
This was only their second year of allowing people to amble along the paths around their fields and this year it was a bigger success than last year.  More sunflowers, and they added vendors selling hand made items and food!
The festival was held the week-end of September 9th and 10th and next year will fall somewhere near those same dates, providing the fields are ready.
People from nearby states as well as from around our own state attended.

I'll just be quiet now and let you enjoy photos of all the sunny faces.
Hope you will consider attending next year and have a day of joy just as I did the past two years.

Sunshine Sunday

Even though my husband had cleaned off the driveway super duper well after the snowstorm, the temperatures fell and it soon became a skating rink out there.
He warned me not to go outside since the sidewalk was slick as well... AND the back deck.
He was out early cleaning it even more, and then the sun came out
and began melting snow from the driveway as well as the trees.
Once more our beloved mountains came into view...
Much of the snow on the driveway in this view from the back deck, has now melted away, taking away the 'slick' factor so that I could go outside once again.
It's the one thing I love about snowstorms.... how the world goes from a gray slate sky
to a chilling blue.
Thirteen inches was not so bad.... the storm could have been much worse as people in D.C. and Maryland can tell you.
Wishing you all a safe and beautiful Sunday.

Have A Sunny Thanksgiving!

 Guess what happened.
I mean... guess what we got.
 Can you see it now?
Take a closer look.
*best rug for disguising boxer colored hair.  LOL*

Mom got us a new rug for in front of the doorway.
It's where the sun comes flowing into the house.
And it's one of our favorite napping places and bird watching locations, and whine at the deer in the yard locations.
Pretty much a great location for everything we dogs love.
It's the location where we will be spending a good portion of our Thanksgiving Day.
Hope you get a nap in the sunshine on a soft rug too!
Love and stuff,
Rowdy and Izzy in Virginia.
