No Orange Pumpkin Budget

Much time was spent outdoors today as we witnessed the clearing of some rock and dirt from our driveway, and everything smoothed beyond glass.
It was quite cold all morning, but as the day warmed we witnessed our driveway be turned into a paved parking arena, without anymore dust and weeds as eye sores.
Oh, and did you notice my sweet little white pumpkin on the front porch?
I cut back on my pumpkin investment this year, with one white pumpkin for the porch and one for the kitchen.  No time for orange ones this year.

I plan to get photos of the driveway tomorrow/Tuesday, in all it's new paved glory.
Stay tuned.

Head Spins Around

We are experiencing a few nights and early mornings in the freezing range of temperatures, so as the leaves continue to change and fall, we are starting our days with a roaring fireplace and many cups of wonderful, hot, delicious coffee.
Today begins the two day project of having the driveways paved.
And so, the list of outdoor home and property improvements that we set as goals for the year are soon coming to an end.
Just one more project after the driveway and we will then be looking towards what size turkey to cook for our Thanksgiving dinner
and also making another "list".
The one for Santa Claus!
What?
Christmas?

Go Ahead, Mock Me

I think the one thing I may miss the most about our previous house is not the house itself, but the blooming trees and bushes on the property.

It's been two years and still I hold memories of the very mature and extremely gorgeous blossoms of the mock orange bushes.
Last year we planted two here at our new home.
This is the one at the back of the house and I swear it has grown two feet taller since we planted it last summer.

Gravity will be pulling it's branches downwards once the white blossoms are in full in the weeks ahead, so yesterday we purchased trellis materials at our local Lowes store to give this mock orange bush the support it's branches will require.
My husband will be trellising all of this open area which means I can plant another climbing bush if I choose.  I'll show photos of this completed project as soon as my husband decides to expend the time.
Tomorrow he is having an implant done for a tooth that needs to come out,
but I know he's anxious to have another project to do soon.
Stay tuned!

The photos below are of the mock orange at our previous home.
It's rather obvious as to why I miss them, don't you think?
