It's that time of year.
That time when we seem to eat, drink, and shop wildly.
All things we do in excess.
I'm as guilty as most of the rest, and it's not the way I used to be or WANT to be.
Okay, so the shopping thing is something I won't change,
but the eating and sloth ways of just sitting around must be tweaked in some way for the better because too much food mixed with little movement of my ass is making this girl uncomfortably girthy. fat. chubby. la chico muy rotundo. LOL
So... people get upset if anyone calls them fat.
Truth is, all they need do is look in the mirror and it's pretty darned obvious if they are FAT.
I am getting to the point of being fat, and I don't consider it 'fat shaming' if anyone calls me on that.
I. Am. Getting. Fat. And. Uncomfortable.
There is no need for me to have gotten this way.
I did it to myself and now I iz gonna un-did this to myself.
My neighbor received this Exerpeutic Folding Recumbent Bike last year for Christmas, and some months later told me about it and had me over to see it and try it out.
I LOVED it, and have hemmed and hawed over purchasing one ever since.
Today I did just that.
Finally ordered one.
Years ago I had a recumbent bike and used it quite often, but it was such a brute when it came to size and sat in our family room taking up far too much space.
Eventually we sold it.
This one is smaller and it folds so that it can be moved out of a room easily and into a corner somewhere out of the way.
AND, look how inexpensive it is! $149.99 vs. the larger models that are around twice that much money.
The plan is to set it here in my office and use it every morning until I drop the pounds and feel better physically. Maybe I'll even get my cholesterol level under control a bit. I also plan to use my hand weights while pedaling. Hey... I can move more than one body part at a time, multi-talented girl that I am.
I ordered mine from Target, but I think that Wal-Mart and Sam's Club also sell them and it has super online reviews from buyers.
Below is the video on the recumbent bike.
Once it arrives and is here in my office I'll keep you apprised of it's benefits to me.

Good for you . . .
ReplyDeletePeddle away . . .
I am fat too . . .
Not sure what kind of magic I will pull out of the hat other than not eat SO MUCH!
Guess I will keep right on walking every day as long as there isn't any ice outside.
I need some upper body strength training and that will be my commitment for the next months!
Raking tons of leaves was not good for this old body!
I like the look of that bike. I look forward to losing weight with you. If it wasn't for the whole exercising and watching what you eat thing, dieting would be easy.

ReplyDeleteYes, we have to keep moving at this age or we just can't drop the extra pounds. I hope you like the bike. Pedal away, my dear!
