Things were hopping around here yesterday with our stone laying man here,
This brick that supported and trimmed out the doorstep just out the basement door, had had winter rain and snow get behind and under it causing it to collapse and look horrible!
A year and a half ago we had a roof built over this basement entrance, so the rain and snow will no long splash against this doorway/threshold and the water won't run down directly onto the bricks and damage things for us.
We love the looks of the repair and the supervisors sat right there watching all morning as Michael Blankenship tore everything out and rebuilt it.
It's so nice to have people who know what they are doing and make proper repairs.
The supervisors are happy.
*see a before picture of damaged area below*
This next photo shows the small covered porch we had built.
Every entrance to a home should have a covered area to keep the weather away from the doorway, or water can lead to damage.
We also have other stone work going on and I'll show you that in another post.
looks lovely! :)
