A Light Snow

Yesterday, January 17th, was our first snow of this winter's season.
Not much, but enough to warn us that even more could lie in the weeks ahead.
Today it is FRIGID COLD outside so you can bet that I won't be running outdoors to snap any fashion photos.... and the snow is gone today, but I so enjoyed seeing it yesterday!
Here are a few photos I snapped yesterday as the snow was still falling... you'll notice that in some of these photos.
References as to the fashion items I am wearing can be found at the bottom of this post.
Stay inside!
Stay warm!
This calls for hot cocoa or buttered rum by the fireplace!

Boot Action

So, my boots arrived today, on our second or third (I forget which) day of temperatures in the 50's.
The UPS man delivered this afternoon as I lay napping in the family room chair to the sound of melting snow from the roof top.  The last of it I might add.

I slipped into the fuzzy, warm pair of Bare Trap boots and stepped out into one of the remaining puddles of snow in the front yard.

Vor ist dis? questioned the pups.  Ver dit all of de snow go?
Und vy is you vearing boots on a warm, sunny day, mama?

Well, my fur baby children, let me tell you the story of Mr. Murphy and some of his laws.  One of them is that if you order snow boots when there is 10 inches of snow on the ground, that said snow will ALWAYS be gone by the time the UPS man delivers them.

Yep, said my husband... today is probably the only action your boots are going to see this year.

And he's probably right... unless we get a late March snowstorm or a surprise bombardment of it in the month of April.

 But, I don't care....
they're cute
and they fit well,
and I'm ready for next year's winter months.

*Happy I now own boots!*

Tip Toe Humor

Springtime Footware?

In 2007 when we moved to Virginia I purchased snow boots, but by the fall of 2014, as I was checking them over for wear and tear, I noticed that they were coming apart and a new pair would be needed this winter, so I threw them away.
Months went by and we received no snow, other than a small storm in November.... and then, the snows of winter never seemed to come again.

UNTIL....
February arrived with a vengeance and I let out a small sigh and a HUGE UH-OH.
I had no boots to wear when my husband was away for a few weeks and I needed to shovel the front walkway.
Now, boots, in a size and style you need are difficult to find in stores and online in the month of February and retailers should know this... but they are always moving along to the next season of the year once Christmas is over.

I finally found a pair of boots that would suffice, providing my high instep will let my foot slide into them, and I had hoped by now that I would be trying them on.....but then came another snowstorm in early March, which slowed the UPS delivery of my boots.
They arrived in the area on Friday but too late in the day, so they most likely will not be delivered to our door until Monday.
We are expecting temperatures in the 50's for the next week, and so it goes.... by the time my boots do arrive winter will be dead and gone and I won't have a need for them until next winter.

This must be one of Murphy's Laws.

If nothing else, perhaps they will look cute as I go tip-toeing through the tulips this spring.
