Rain On The Petals

Probably a moth rather than a butterfly, but I so loved his furry back.
I love Rowdy's furry back also.
The flowers were still wet from a light over-night rainshower, and he enjoys licking the moisture from the petals.
I imagine it tastes much better than the tap water in his bowl that has been through the water softener.
Our sweet, little (not so little anymore) reluctant alpha boy, watches over his kingdom.
We think he would much rather have been a gamma guy, but was forced by circumstances to be the alpha instead.
A gentle alpha who keeps Izzy in check and his people safe.
Couldn't love this guy any more than I already do.
Smooches.

I Have Loved Thee Most

The rains dashed a petal, one lonely petal from the potted pansies on the front porch, down to the stone steps and then watched it as it lay there to drown,
but not before I rushed inside for my camera to catch it in it's last stage of autumn glory.
I may have been too late for pansies last spring, due to my waiting a day or two too long to drive to the nursery,
but this fall they were once again on my list of 'must haves'.
The flower I have loved the most since childhood,
and nothing will every change that.
