A Cold And Lonely Month

December has been a tough month.
If I make it through December, which is meant to be the happy time of year,
then the cold gray days of January will be a piece of cake.
How's your December going?

Tip For December

If there is one weakness I have, it is for pretty holiday plates, whether it be Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving.  I simply LOVE pretty plates.

Not so much dinner plates, but smaller plates for cookies, cheese and crackers, ooooey gooey yummy lemon or chocolate bars.  Everything looks better on a pretty plate.

It's one of the reasons I love Pier One so much.
They seem to have a plate for every holiday or occasion, and if you check them out right after Christmas, the red ones all go on a special sale price.

A year or two ago I stopped in in January and picked up two of these and two of those... you know, mix and match, and I keep them in a kitchen cupboard the entire month of December so that I can use them.
I don't hide them away in a china cabinet in December.

Someone stopping by for some wine?
Grab a few pretty plates and use them!

I refuse to bring them out only the week of Christmas.
Pretty plates should be used and enjoyed, and they were on sale after all, so if you break one?
BAH!
Who cares!
USE THEM!

They even make your peanut butter sandwich look better at lunch time!

That's my tip for December.

Days Of Gray

When you live in this area of the country, winters CAN be wonderful and warm,
with sun that bounces through the trees and warms your face as you lift it towards the sky.

 On the other hand......

days CAN be dreary, and that is the kind of December we have been having.
*stupid mole is playing havoc with the yard*

The sun comes out and does the hula begging you to come outdoors and play,

but the minute you turn your back....

fickle December brings on wind, fog and days of gray

with a smattering of frost and snow.

Boots?
Scarf?
Bikini?
Raincoat and umbrella?
Fake fur?

We are not sure what to wear, although Rowdy and Izzy are always fashionable in their real fur.

December.... please make up your mind.
