Cleaning Out Fresh Foods

My husband does the majority of the cooking, but seeing as how he has been working away from his home office the past couple of days due to needing to be at the client's office to install his code, I thought I would pick up the slack and see what was in our refrigerator that I could work with today.
Gina at Skinny Taste, who's website I check out often, in fact I think I am subscribed for update e-mails, had a nice recipe today for Quick Cabbage Slaw, and having made a cabbage soup last week I knew I had a small amount of that head of cabbage in the fridge just needing to be used before it goes bad.  Wasting fresh foods it's something we do NOT like to do in our house.
I also had a small red pepper and just a wee bit of red onion left, so her recipe was PERFECT as a side dish/salad to go with the chicken breasts that my husband will be grilling tonight.
It took no longer than 10 minutes to slice up all of the ingredients, dress it with the apple cider vinegar and the EVOO, sprinkle with a bit of black pepper and red pepper flakes and get it chilling in the fridge.
IF you have not yet subscribed to Skinny Taste website, you SHOULD!
Always healthy meal option recipes each day.

Can't wait for dinnertime to get here!!

  1. Yummy! I'm always looking for new recipes, I get tired of the same old things I make.
