One String Of Lights

Just a few touches of the Season around the house.
A lighted gingerbread house and candle with floating sprinkles of gold.
The small touches give the dinette area  feeling of warm and cozy at night.

One small 'Believe' pillow on the guest bedroom's bed just for fun!
A favorite nutcracker stands guard at the side of the fireplace.
I purchased him at The Home Goods store in Columbia, Maryland a decade ago.  He has one small crack in him so they marked his price very low.  My kind of deal, and the crack has not gotten any larger.
Ever heard of the Land of Broken Toys?  That would include my nutcracker.

So this is the fire place as seen when you enter our home.  I have however removed the yellow forsythia in the vase and replaced it with some pine branches that are more suitable for the holiday season.
I'll snap a photo of that soon.

And a Santa I have also had for a very long time.
Why is it that the older pieces are always more cherished and the ones we all love the most?
Every home should have at least one Old World Santa in my opinion, and if you search diligently you can find the perfect one for you at a great price.

Owls are not necessarily for Christmas decorating, but mine are shiny silver and the lights at night make them stand out and sparkle so I said... Why not?  They keep Santa company over the fireplace.

Are your decorations up yet? Even just a very few can put you in the mood for Christmas if you have been feeling a bit blue or stressed out this month.
Just one santa or one string of lights can bring cheer to your home.
Make this a great season!
