For Your Scraps

It's a wee bit sad looking out the window this time of the year which overlooks the garden.

All food products are gone, in fact we picked the very very very last of the bell peppers, which I might add were all very small so we used for a nice spicy relish to use in cooking as well as over meats this winter.

We have had one light frost which really didn't do much damage to these flowers growing up against the back of the garden fence behind the pepper plants.

But they are the last smiles the garden will contain as winter knocks at the door SOON!
*knock knock.... go away!  not ready for you yet, Winter!*

Gardening means a lot of scraps which we take to our composter which sits next to the garden ,and we found this great looking compost bucket at Plow and Hearth a couple of months ago *sitting on patio when photo taken as husband was on his way out to the composter*

Saving scraps for composting can be an ugly business when the scrap container sits on the kitchen counter next to the sink, so having something a wee bit attractive sort of saves the day.
Plow and Hearth had ceramic ones as well, but this pounded copper one suited us best and won't break if dropped.
*not paid by Plow and Hearth to mention their product*
