I have a sweater coat.
A red one that I have had for most likely more than a decade, and although I may still wear it from time to time, it should probably be retired to the 'give it away' pile.
I subscribe to a few retail websites of which I know the clothing quality is up to my standards with well stitched seams and fabrics that won't fall apart in one washing.
Lately I had been receiving notices from The Loft that all... yes ALL of their sweaters were 40% off, their new fall styles, not clearance styles.
So I went to their store at our local mall and tried this light gray sweater coat on for size and fell in love with it.
Although this could also be worn in a dressed up fashion, I am pretty much a casual country, jean gal, so on went some suede boots, a pair of flared faded jeans with a high waist, a mens tan crew neck sweatshirt over a cream colored lightweight turtle neck, two necklaces for a touch of glam and of course my favorite leather hat.
All of this rain with temperatures in the low fifties has been chilling me through and through, to the bone kind of chill, so I wore the sweater all day today.
This sweater is heavier than my old sweater coat...
but I highly recommend it for anyone, who like me, is easily chilled on wet autumn day.
Here are the links to create this look.
Sweater which was 40% off retail. Boots are old but try these. Flared jeans from Macy's. Men's crew neck sweatshirt. Bling Necklace is old, but from The Loft. Also a string of pearls which I have had FOREVER. Hat by Minnetonka
It's very nice. We don't have that store around here so I wouldn't be able to try it on like you did, but I like the olive color :-)
ReplyDeleteI bought the xl size and it is quite roomy. Probably would have ordered it online even if there was not a store nearby. Call me wild and crazy i guess. LOL
DeleteYou look so snazzy and I love your hat! I shop at Loft mostly and they have some really cute "coatigans" this year. That's what they are calling them. :)
ReplyDeleteI could never wear gray with auburn hair, but it's one of my go-to colors now. Love that sweater coat. Though 'in the 50's' temperatures is still a distant memory...
ReplyDeleteLooking sassy and cool . . . love the look!
ReplyDelete(Happy that new sweater coat is keeping you warm too!)
