New Music For This Holiday Season

So here is what I have been able to find on new Christmas music being released this year.

I know... many of you don't even want to talk about it yet, but I DO, so listen up.

Reba will be doing a re-release of last year's Christmas album/cd/whatever you want to call it, on Sept. 22nd titled "Merry Christmas To You", so watch for that on iTunes or Amazon.  She will be adding some new songs to the re-release, for whatever that's worth.  Not a huge fan of Reba.

Revvin Up the Reindeer will be released on Sept. 29th and I don't have a clue as to what kind of music this is, or what it sounds like.....  country twang perhaps??

And Sia, the gal with the hair that hides her face, also will be releasing a Christmas album sometime this fall.... I've seen online that they will be 'original' Christmas songs, which means no Silent Night or Jingle Bells I guess.

Boy band, 98 Degrees, will be releasing a 12 song Christmas CD titled 'Let It Snow' on October 2nd.

Cheap Trick will release a Christmas CD sometime around Halloween.

Here's a sneak peek for you.  A rocking good time!

That's not a whole lot of new Christmas tunes this year, so if you hear of any others, please let us know.

New Christmas Music

Each year I begin my search for a few new Christmas tunes in October or early November and I search right up until Christmas is here.

If you Google New Christmas Music  usually you can find something.

Here are a few I have discovered so far, and not all of them appeal to me, but it does give you a variety to choose from.

Danny Gokey has a Christmas CD that came out in October.

It's on iTunes if you want a sampling of each tune, or find all of the songs from beginning to end on YouTube.

Here's one of Danny's tunes.

LeAnn Rimes has a new Christmas CD as well,

Her song 'Today Is Christmas' caught the love of my ears.

Here's a bit of it.

Kenny Rogers also has a new Christmas CD that was released in September.... it's never too early to start the search for new Christmas songs in my book!
Listen to his new CD HERE on Youtube.

Here is the link that lists numerous new Holiday CDs for 2015.  Not all of them have been released as of yet, but watch on iTunes in the weeks ahead for your newest favorite.

And Did You Know

Did any of you even know that Kem did a Christmas CD last year?

Here is the song 'A Christmas Song For You' from last year.

Easy on the ears I must say, and I'll be downloading it today.

In case you hadn't noticed... I am on a holiday music roll today.

Holiday Music

Did you know that Darius Rucker has a Holiday CD out since October?

Sometimes Holiday music is just not given enough attention when something new appears on the horizon for us.

Also, I could not yet find a tab on iTunes for their holiday/Christmas selections, so I had to do a search on Holiday, and then look for the link above the CD and click on that... it took me to all of their holiday selections.  Guess they are going to hide it until Thanksgiving?  Harumph!!

Here is a sample from his Home For The Holidays cd, called What God Wants For Christmas for those of you who prefer a bit of a Christian sound, although it's done in a contemporary way.

A great 'greet your guests' tune for when they arrive Christmas day.

Enjoy!

In November??

Apologies for not having been here lately, but life and it's errands, both behind this computer as well as behind the wheel of my vehicle have taken precedence over the past week.

Doctor, dentist and orthodontic appointments,  getting answers on some blood work, which by the way all turned out to be fine, then a few gifts to buy, dog vet appointment, voting, renewal of driver's license,  lunch date with my husband, sorting items for Goodwill and dropping off the donation, a super fun huge sale at Macy's to attend (smirks) and a couple more vehicle appointments still needed this month, ie: getting vehicle inspection and two recall notices on my SUV.... let's just say it's been a wee bit busy here.

I also plan to have the Holiday shopping done VERY early this year for the few gifts we purchase and top that off with a lot of gift cards, and if I am lucky I can have it all done before December 1st, except for sending out cards which I may or may not do this year.

Guess you could say I am doing YOUR crazy December stuff in November this year.

Don't laugh!  Years ago I had it all done by October.  LOL  It's just that the store selections are all so picked over and ugly things left in December... that's just my opinion and really why I choose to gitter done early.

I know it's early for some families to plan Holiday things right now, but what is your plan of attack this year?

Oh.. and by the way, my new Holiday Wishes CD I ordered from Target arrived and I am in love with it!!

THIS is for you folks shoveling today in Minnesota who were hit with over a foot of snow yesterday.

Let It Snow?  NOOOOOO

New Holiday Music To Watch For and Some Old Music Too

So, you  may think it's too early for Christmas or Holiday music, whichever you may prefer to call it because like it or not, not everyone calls it Christmas.

I am not sure of the release dates, but watch Amazon or iTunes.

It's Christmas on Mack Avenue.  It's jazzy.

Dave Koz featuring some of his special friends.  This one is great!.

The Hollyberries.... BLEH!

Lady Antebellum On This Winter's Night.  Very nice!

Merry Christmas To You by Jonathan Butler.  Mellow

25th Of Last December by get this.... Roberta Flack!  I like it!!

My December (Linkin Park) by Scala and Kolacny Brothers.  Haunting and beautiful.

Jimmy Nash 'First Christmas In Love'.  Not bad... sort of a jingly lovey song.

Joey+Rory It's Christmas Time.  Pretty.  Feels good. Country.

You can find all of the above HERE.  Some are new, some are from years gone by.

Must have Idina Menzel's holiday album!  This is Mother's Spiritual.
P.S.  You have to buy this CD via Target in order to get this song which is a bonus song.
BE SURE TO READ SONG LIST as not all of the Holiday Wishes CD's have this one!

Now go see what you can find for a new Holiday music experience.
