Prep Time

Yesterday my husband installed the storm door that I had been wanting for months.
We had one at our last home and having one can bring so much added light into the house considering how gloomy things can be without it.

The few inches of snow we received yesterday are quickly melting today, but they left a bit of a white frosting yet today on the higher altitudes of the Allegheny Mountains in the distance.
The blue sky says one thing.....

while the storm clouds say they are not sure they are done with us.

I recall our first Thanksgiving living in Virginia and it was nothing at all like today.
It was warm that year.
The orange and red of the leaves still clung to the trees
and it felt nearly balmy.

But...
things change.
A new home.

with new views.....

But this is 2014,
and it's time....

to get this party started.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day sharing a meal with those you love.

Early November Views

For those of you not on Facebook, here are a few of the recent photos I took this past week as I stopped in a nearby town that I passed through numerous times over this past month while doing errands.  The autumn colors are all very subdued, and with today's heavy rain most of this color will be taken down until next October.
These were all taken from the same vantage point atop a hill, except for the last photo which was taken closer to our home with a view of the Allegheny Mountains in the background. It was a windy day so the leaves and grasses were all waving about and caused a softer look due to a teeny bit of blur.
All taken with my pocket camera, a Canon S95 that I have had for a couple years.
Please enjoy the views.
