Christmas Eve was spent with neighbors, who like us, are far away from their close family members during the Holiday Season....
so it couldn't have been more appropriate to spend the evening with
those that we have much in common.
Just the walk up to the front door was enough to make us feel Christmasy and welcome.
Warm people.
Hot food.
A quiet evening with toddies around the fireplace after a hearty meal and light conversation.
He in his house slippers and me in my kerchief and fuzzy pink robe, and two pups all snuggled into their new sherpa blanket were all settled in for a night with a glowing fireplace as 45 mile an hour winds howled outside our door.
Christmas feels best close to home.
There's no place like home, without a doubt!! Your neighbors' home looks very cozy with that sweet front porch!
ReplyDeleteThe going, being , entertaining, being entertained is all wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBut when day is done . . .
Nothing like going home, being comfortable . . . together . . .
pup snuggled close by . . ,
Noting better . . .
Merry Christmas . . .
Happy remaining days of 2017!
Lovely post, Pepper. Love that last bit... "me in my kerchief." Here it's all fuzzy slippers, fire in the woodstove, glass of red wine, good British mystery DVD. Sigh. Living the good life.
