A Hem Held Too High

I have long been in love with lawn art, as long as it is not made from a decorated tree stumps, dressed in human clothing and then given names like Stumpy or Willow.

I also prefer my lawn art/ornamentations to be colorless... no bright red and white lawn jockeys or black and white painted cows.  Understated works best for me.

I have a bunny and a monk or two as well as two gnomes, each being bland brown or green.
Nothing that is really seen unless you are looking for it.

When my friend, Rebecca at Shenandoah Gateway Farm posted about her two lovely lawn ornamentations that she plans to hide in or around her bushes and flowers that she had purchased at Black Dog Salvage in our area, I thought OHHHHH, I need something new and so I hitched up the ponies and wagon, headed to town and came home with Bashful Betty.

For now Betty will remain on the front porch, but in the springtime I think I will move her into the bushes and flowers at the front of the house.

To be honest, I can't decide if she is bashful or simply a pouting bratty girl who wants everyone to know that she has just been reprimanded for doing something she was NOT supposed to do.

The ladies at Black Dog Salvage said her official name is Bashful Betty, but that they like to refer to her as Not So Bashful Betty since she is holding her dress hem up a wee bit TOO high.
I may just need to come up with a new name for her.
Any suggestions?

Go visit Rebecca and check out her new lawn ornaments.  They are SO CUTE!

  2. I think Anita may be on to something. Maybe she got in trouble for something and now she's pouting.
